Amanda's Story: Becoming Hot From The Inside Out

Amanda Weil is one of Dr. Kim's patients. She's been so transformed by chiropractic care and holistic living, she asked if she could write a testimonial blog about her experience. And of course, we said, "Of course!"

Here's her story:
My initial introduction to Synecare and Dr. Kim took place about 4 ½ years ago, and I honestly have no idea how I survived without her in my life! I had been to chiropractors in the past and understood how much better I felt when everything was in alignment, but none of them followed a holistic approach or taught me the importance of positive thinking and true health. A few of the women in my office knew I was suffering from pain in my neck and shoulders and told me I had to see their friend, Dr. Kim. I made an appointment the following day and began seeing her 3 times a week. Her hands were magic and the pain and tension I had been feeling dwindled. As I started becoming more of a “regular,” Dr. Kim began trying new techniques on me that focus more on aligning your pulse points and the power of your mind to realign your body. It was fascinating for me to realize how much control your mind has over your body. Positive thinking really can change how you feel and even affects your outcome in life! This is when all of the pieces started coming together, and the way I thought about health started changing.
I always considered myself a health nut and was consistent in working out and staying in shape.  However, I had terrible stomach pains on a regular basis and always felt super bloated. Of course this discomfort made me moody and would completely ruin my day or evening. Who wants to go out on a date when your stomach is distended and you can’t suck it in? I attributed it all to stress as the pain seemed to lessen on the weekends. As my relationship grew with Dr. Kim, we began talking more about food and all of the chemicals we eat on a regular basis. I realized that what I thought was healthy was actually causing my stomach pains and most likely the culprit behind my regular breakouts. Our culture is preached to over and over again that to lose weight and stay slim you have to eat diet food and drink diet drinks. So of course I was drinking Crystal light all day, eating sugar free food, drinking diet soda…the things I thought would help me stay slim! I will admit it took me over a year to fully break this habit, as it’s scary to start eating yogurt that actually has fat in it or to use olive oil and vinegar on my salad instead of fat free dressing. I started learning the importance of eating a balanced, nutrient-rich diet. The final step in the process was to give up all artificial sweeteners and make the switch to Stevia which happened this past year. Let me just say that I FEEL AMAZING!! The bloat and pain is gone, and I even have more energy than I did in the past. My skin is clearer, my hair is shinier, and I feel like I am in better shape now than I ever have been in the past. I religiously take my greens and omegas and now truly feel healthy and holistic. Plus my food tastes better and I feel more satisfied.

Being a patient of Dr. Kim has completely changed my life, and I want to pass along all that I have learned to my friends and complete strangers. I have a new-found confidence in who I am and who I want to be, and as cheesy as it sounds, she has helped me find myself.  There is a new aura of positivity in my life, and I find myself smiling for no reason except that if feels much better than frowning. This inner confidence has also changed the way I dress and present myself. Now that I feel amazing on the inside, I have a stronger desire to rock what’s on the outside. I have always been in love with shoes and clothes and accessories, but finding my true self has given me a new sense of style. I have realized how much I love pulling together outfits, throwing on accessories, finding the perfect shoes or handbag and truly feeling fabulous. Clothes reflect how you feel about yourself, and it can make your day when you know you look amazing. They should never be thought of as something to hide behind, but rather an extension of your personality. I was chatting with Dr. Kim one day about how I would love to help style everyday women who don’t really know which shoes to throw on or which earrings will pop with a specific blouse. You don’t have to spend a ton of money to look amazing, you just have to understand how to mix and match and accent your best features. Everyone deserves to look and feel beautiful…not just famous or super wealthy folks. She asked if I would be interested in sprinkling in a few blog posts with fashion tips and trends, and of course I jumped at the opportunity.
